tr_🇺🇦 More doomy jazz with an accordion this time (a first for me). The 1st and 3rd tracks are just what I want: moody and slow jazz pieces with lots of curious sounds and atmosphere. Introverted. Often the accordion is played in a way that invokes pictures of people talking. A hard or impossible to follow conversation at that. The other two songs are more abstract and soundtrack-like. Maybe for a slow Tarkowski movie? I'm definitely looking into more music from this artist. Favorite track: Split Tire/Dark Walk.

about

GZARA returns in its 10th year with a full length album combining dark jazz and melodic dark ambient spread across 14 side length tracks.
The album was recorded on cassette, using 4 track and live handheld recordings to create the body of the album. Each side of a future physical release begins with a sprawling, hallucinatory excursion into jazz noir or dark jazz, using the accordion as a horn and overdubbing a mood into being on 4 track cassette. The sides close with a lengthy solo accordion exploration, drawing on the composer’s experience with dungeon synth.
