Lungfiddle is the product of a year of focused work in developing a set of compositions in performance and rehearsal. The work was one step in an ongoing process of trying to piece together a language as an improvisor, and learning to speak it fluently rather than just reciting the phrasebook by rote. These compositions originated in March of 2014, and they changed shape several times in performance and rehearsal. The versions recorded in June of 2015 are not definitive, but represent one reasonably confident set of answers to the questions these compositions pose.

Thanks to Anne Rhodes, Carl Testa, and Chris Cretella for lots of meandering conversations that helped me to verbally and musically articulate my goals here. Thanks to Eric Tate for helping to get a better recording of an accordion than I realized was possible. Thanks to Alain Lefebvre and Off Record Label for the support.
